29th July 1993 – Buddha rejected all practices
This beautiful satsang from the 29th of July 1993 contains the following:
*GABRIEL: “I feel like dropping Tibetan practices.”
Papaji: “Freedom is simple! No thinking, no effort. No process, no method, no practice. Presence does not belong to present. It will follow you. No name, no form. It alone is, here and now. Enquiry.
*ANONYMOUS LETTER: “Inner Master, relationship to father.”
Papaji: Atman is your teacher. You are That. Turn your face to this father whom you have never met. Role of Guru is sitting in your heart.
*CHANTAL: “Since early age I wanted to know the secret.”
Papaji speaks about church, gods and heaven. “Any path is delaying. How far is your Self from you? This ‘I am’ is something else. ‘I am That I am.’ Everything is located in this ‘I am.’ Your longing has paid you not the practice. You need no practice!” Papaji tells the story of a child seeing a teacher being attended by his students and wanting to become a teacher himself. “This kind of teachers are available, those who have never been students or been with a Guru. You have to be with the teacher who will tell you this secret. Nobody can be enlightened with a book, you need a living Guru. Trying, means postponement. Keep quiet and instantly you’ll see who you are. No glimpse, no experience. Papaji speaks about Buddha who went to see many teachers who were doing austerities. “Keeping quiet he found the secret. The Vedas say ‘Neither this nor that.’ The Master will clear any doubt that there has been any incarnation at all. Instantly one will understand ‘I have been free all along.’ All this is a projection of mind. This creation is your projection. How to stop? Don’t think. When you see form and name it is a dream. No freedom, no bondage. When your dream is over all those suffering people are also free.”
*SUZANNE: “I don’t know what to write. All is meaningless.”
*RICHARD: “I have been weeping a lot. How to get rid of tendencies?”
Papaji: “You can do Naam Japa but don’t forget who is repeating. Ask who is doing it and find out the answer. Who is enabling you to practice?”
*YAMUNA & NIRAJA sing ‘Khungate Ke’
