Peace has no equal

OM NAMO SADGURU DEVA
This compilation put together for Mahasamadhi 2025 starts with a devotional song titled ‘The Diamond in Your Eyes’ sang by Yashodhara. The song is part of the album ‘Be a Lion’ recorded in Lucknow in 1993.
The discourse that follows is from the 10th of August 1992 – ‘Everybody is ill.’ Papaji speaks about the primordial suffering originated by separating from Consciousness, and how satsang is the way to overcome this. In Satsang one has no associations but is alone seeking for Truth. “Satsang is to inquire into the nature of this illness; how to get rid of this illness. The main cause of the illness is ‘I am body,’ this ego, because we had separated in the beginning from the Purusha, and we forgot about it. Inquiry is: Simply directly looking onto your own Self. This is the aim of inquiry. And this is how you will get rid of the illness. When there’s no notion in the mind, no intention in the mind, and no ideation in the mind, then you can just imagine what’s left. You can’t speak about. How simple.”
The compilation includes the following:
23rd April 1993: Q: “Does desire for attachment to bliss need to be terminated?” Papaji: “This desire ‘I want to be free’ need to be permanently kept. This will do away with all other desires. It will take you beyond bondage and merge into freedom. Desire for freedom is freedom itself.”
2nd April 1992 SWAMI DHARMESH ARTI: “How can I make real and alive the messages you keep giving us every day? Having stuck up energy and sense of separation.” Papaji: “The only message is love and peace. It is not in the memory. If you have no connection with the word, it will land somewhere else. We are the same. Name and form are only notion. The word is only a finger pointing to peace. This is satsang. When the mind is quiet it is freedom.” Papaji tells the story of Saint RAMDAS from Maharashtra remembering his Masters teachings despite he was only sweeping the floor.
10 December 1992 STIG/ATMANANDA: “In this searching for the gate, I believed I left the truth of who I am.” Papaji: “Inside the house there is no gate. Entering the Self, all is finished. You are in the emptiness of the Self.” Papaji gives him the name Atmananda and explains its meaning. Our Self is called Atman. In the Atman there’s a cave, and there’s a flame. in the flame there’s emptiness. And there is the bliss. It’s called bliss, and beauty, and love. Which cannot be touched, cannot be thought about. Whosoever have gone have never returned so far.
The compilation ends with a short clip of devotees releasing Papaji’s ashes on the banks of the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri ghat in Haridwar.
