No Effort

In this satsang extract from the 2nd of August 1993, a woman called Barbara asks Papaji, “When I look, there is still somebody. Who is it?” Papaji talks about the underlying essence of the wave and the ocean. He also gives the analogy of the fish who is thirsty and explains that no effort is needed to just BE. “You have got to do nothing to be as you are, but to become something you have to do so many things. You don’t need to think, you don’t need to make any effort… You have to be away to see somebody else. Anything too close cannot be seen. Don’t keep yourself away from the Self. Go close, retina to retina, Self to Self. You don’t see anything. And this is called Absolute Freedom: no two, not even one.”
