One Thing You Must Do

There is one thing you must do

so as not to be tricked by the mind,

Simply keep Quiet and do not make effort.

What you mention is making effort, but you are requested not to make any kind of effort and to keep quiet. If you ask me how to keep Quiet, I will ask you not to think. If you ask me how not to think then I will suggest that you find out where the thought arises from. Turn your face towards That. Do not look at the object of the mind, but to where the mind arises from. Mind is a bundle of thoughts and there is no difference between thought and “I.” When “I” arises thought arises and when thought arises senses arise and they produce objects of their respective senses. Eyes to see, nose to smell a flower, ears to hear music, tongue to taste and hands to touch. These are the objects of the senses  but the senses and the objects are the same. When the senses are there, objects are there. Now return back slowly to where the senses arise from. They arise from mind. Objects-senses-mind. Where does the mind rise from? Ego! There is no difference between mind and ego. Where does the Ego arise from? This means where does the “I” arise from. Pick this up. When you do you will merge into that place where “I” arises and disappears — and that situation is yet undescribed by anyone, no teacher or preacher or religious book or Sutra or the Buddha.
