Kabir’s Grave

Kabir had both Hindu and Muslim devotees. Both groups loved him
and felt that he was their very own. When he died, they had a quarrel.

The Hindu devotees calmed that he was a Hindu and wanted to
cremate his body. But the Muslim devotees claimed that he was a
Muslim and wanted to bury it. So, what to do?

The body was already cold but the quarrel got very heated. Each
group was ready to drag the body in their respective direction — the
Hindus to the cremation ground and the Muslims to the cemetery.
But when they came to where the body lay, it had vanished. In its
place were two identical flowers. The Hindus took one and cremated it and the Muslims took the other and buried it.

This is a true story. The two samadhis are there even today.

That’s how Kabir satisfied all his devotees even after his death.
