31st December 1992 – The space in Between

This satsang starts with a discourse in which Papaji welcomes the new year by guiding the devotees to step into no-time zone. “Enter afresh into this no-time-zone, in between zero hours. Within this zero hour you have time enough to question here; not touching the past, and the future has not yet arisen. You have spent many zero hours before, but how cheaply we have given up this time, zero hour. Within this zero there are millions, and billions, and trillions of time. And because zero is full, limitless, it is everything. So, don’t think that when I suggest you to enter zero you will become zero. Perhaps you will get everything from before the beginning, and after the end. We have been traveling to find this time, while this was all along with us. This is the time to meet.” This discourse was used in Gurupurnima 2024 compilation: https://youtu.be/WiehIUzbtfg
The satsang includes the following interactions:
*David: “Desire to sit at your feet and just be with you in satsang. Meeting beautiful people.”
Papaji: “You have to be beautiful, otherwise how can you see beautiful people? If you have a beautiful heart everything is beauty.” Papaji uses the analogy of the fisherwoman who could not sleep at her florist friends house to teach about vigilance.
*Keshav: Brings a shell from Bali.
*Gyanand: “When I find out that by doing, it is not possible to find the Self, then it is possible to find the Self by not doing. What a grace to come out of nothingness, and create oneself out of this nothing, and to be aware of it. There then comes up the roaring laughter.”
*No Name: “Wanting to be free, but also for life to be an adventure filled with interesting happenings and explorations; with me involved as a doer, even to enjoy samsara. I occasionally have a thought of freedom.”
Papaji: “Doing or not doing, it’s not that, you see. Reject both. Then you are happy. Not holding on anything. Not even holding on nothingness, you are happy. Not even holding on happiness, you are happy. What is That space I am pointing at? That space gives you happiness, not anything else.“ Papaji tells the story of Majnu to teach about rejecting everything. “The body is doing. Not you. Not ‘I’. Who is the pilot of the plane? Surrender to the pilot. It is wisdom to depend on the pilot, to not create fuss on the plane. Who is giving you energy to even look at me, that which gives light to the eyes? Look towards that.”
*No name: “Out of the blue freedom happened. Why this glimpse of eternity doesn’t last forever.”
Papaji: “When you go for a search, search the diamond Chintamani. Beyond concept of money. There’s a diamond within you concealed by arrogance.”
*Sam: “Once the question ‘Who am I?’ has been answered, is there still learning?”
Papaji: “Your face shows you have not even tried. Be here now. What a joy to have a touch of this drink. Whole life this intoxication will never be reduced.”
