T. M. P. Mahadevan was a professor of Indian philosophy at Madras University. During his tenure there he became an expert on the writings of Adi-Sankara. He also became a devotee of Ramana Maharshi in the late 20s and was a regular visitor to Ramanasramam in the succeeding years. This book offers a translation of Ulladu Narpadu, Bhagavan’s philosophical poem on the nature of reality, and adds a commentary on each verse. The commentary differs from most of the others on this work in that it attempts to compare Sri Ramana’s ideas with those found in the traditional schools of Indian philosophy.
