Kanakammal first came to Ramanasramam in the mid-1940s as a young Indian girl seeking a Guru and a spiritual path. She remained for the rest of her life. In order to clarify her understanding of Sri Ramana’s teachings and writings, she sought out Muruganar and received lessons from him on Bhagavan’s writings and on the Tamil philosophical texts that he referred to and recommended. She also observed and recorded many of the dialogues and events that took place in the hall where Sri Ramana lived and taught. This book, written towards the end of her life, records the most memorable incidents she witnessed in Bhagavan’s presence. In a separate volume she gives explanations of the various texts that Muruganar taught her in the 1950s and 60s.
