Annamalai Swami lived and worked with Sri Ramana Maharishi until 1938, when Sri Ramana asked his disciple to devote himself to solitary meditation. In the 1980s small numbers of spiritual seekers began to visit Annamalai Swami to question him about his Guru’s teachings and their own spiritual practices. The teachings presented in this book were given out the last six months of Annamalai Swami’s life. They represent the essence of his experience and his lifelong devotion to his Guru and his teachings.

Reading this small book is like sitting in the room while advanced seekers interview a realized master. During the process of realization, one tends to go back and forth between absorption in the Reality and beholding or enjoying the Reality-- between looking at the Self and just being the Self. The questioners bring up some of the subtle issues that can impede a full and complete realization. Annamalai skillfully addresses these impediments so that we can abide in our Original Being.
